Short Links Privacy Notice

You're reading this because you clicked a link that redirected through GoloLink (a URL that looks like gololink.com/r/... or a creator's own short domain). This notice is separate from our main Privacy Policy, which covers people who have a GoloLink account. This page explains what happens, and what little data is collected, during that redirect - even if you've never signed up for GoloLink yourself.

1. What a short link does

Creators use GoloLink to share product or sponsor links in their video descriptions. When you click one, your browser briefly passes through our redirect service before landing on the creator's actual destination (e.g. an Amazon or store page). The redirect is instant and server-side - no GoloLink page is shown to you.

2. Information collected on each click

To give the creator basic click analytics, we record:

  • Timestamp of the click.
  • Referrer and referrer domain (where the click came from, if sent by your browser).
  • Approximate country and city, resolved from your IP address via a GeoIP lookup at the moment of the click. We do not store the raw IP address itself.
  • Device type, browser, and operating system, parsed from your browser's user agent string.
  • Which specific link and video (if any) the click is attributed to.

That's the complete list - we don't collect your name, email, or any other directly-identifying information as part of a redirect, and no cookie is set on your browser during the redirect itself.

3. Who sees this data

Click data is visible to the creator who created the link, in their own GoloLink analytics dashboard, as an aggregated count alongside other clicks - not as a per-visitor profile. We do not sell this data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Retention

Click records are retained for as long as the creator's link or account stays active, following the same retention practices described in our main Privacy Policy.

5. If you also have a GoloLink account

This notice only covers the redirect itself. If you separately use GoloLink as a creator or have an account with us, our main Privacy Policy governs that account data instead.
