Understanding your click data

What counts as a click, and what referrer/country/device breakdowns mean.

What counts as a click

A click is logged each time someone follows one of your short URLs, before they're sent on to the destination. Automated/bot traffic is detected and excluded from your counts, so you're seeing real visitor activity.

Referrers

Where the click came from - the YouTube app, a mobile browser, a specific site, or direct/unknown when that information isn't available.

Countries and devices

Each click is tagged with the visitor's approximate country and device type (mobile, desktop, tablet), so you can see the geographic and device split of your traffic per link or per video.

Why this can differ from YouTube Analytics or Google Analytics

Each tool measures a different point in the funnel. YouTube Analytics measures activity inside YouTube (views, watch time) and doesn't see what happens after someone clicks an outbound link. Google Analytics (or similar) measures what happens after a visitor lands on your site, which depends on their browser allowing tracking scripts to run. GoloLink sits between the two - it logs the click itself, at the moment someone follows your short link, which is why its numbers won't match either tool exactly.
