What are Smart Links?
Video attribution and Smart Redirects, together.
Any GoloLink short link can do two things a plain shortener can't:
- Know which video sent the click - attach a short URL to a video and every click on it is tagged with that video (see Per-video attribution).
- Send different visitors to different places - route by country or device instead of everyone landing on the same destination (see Geo and device routing).
These aren't a separate link type you choose when creating a link - they're settings you add to any link, at any time, from that link's own page.
Why this matters
A generic shortener answers "was this link clicked?" GoloLink answers "which video sent this click, and did it go to the right destination for that visitor?" That's the difference between one blended click count and knowing what to make more of.
